| My love for fishing started with my dad taking me to stocked ponds so I could throw my Mickey Mouse spinning rod. I graduated to bass fishing as I grew older. Raft guiding in Maine is where I discovered the art of fly fishing. Shortly after, I moved to Colorado where a specific Gore Creek Fisherman taught me everything he knew. That was 4 ½ years ago, and I haven’t looked back since. I’ve taken fly fishing back to my dad in Illinois, to the Florida Keys, New Mexico, Wyoming, and of course to my beautiful Colorado rivers. I love sharing my passion of being on the water I’ve paddled for many years and seeing the rivers come to life!! Looking forward to another great season. | |

I was born and raised in Eastern Wisconsin in the Kettle Moraine State Forest north of Milwaukee. When I had an opportunity in 1987 to do a hotel restaurant internship with the Marriott in Lionshead I jumped all over it. The food service industry led to the whitewater rafting industry, which led to fly fishing as a means to a paycheck. I started with Gore Creek Fly Fisherman in 2001. In the winters I wait tables and bartend. When I’m not fishing my guitar and my raft keep me occupied.

| I grew up in the Vail Valley. My dad and two older brothers taught me to fly fish, soon after that is when I began tying flies and building my own fly rods. I have fly fished from the Florida Key’s to Alaska and the Bahamas to Montana. I love to teach people how to become better anglers. One of my favorite moments on the river, is watching a client catch his or her first fish on a fly rod. LET’S GO FISHING! | |

| Ryan Schmidt has resided in the Vail Valley for close to 11 years now. Born and raised in the mountains of this beautiful state, Ryan found his home and calling right here in Vail. As a part-time chef at one of Vail’s premiere seafood restaurants, Ryan “slings” fish by night and chases then releases them by day. From his earliest days, Ryan has literally been eating, sleeping and breathing fishing. Some say if you look close enough you might catch a glimpse of his gills tucked behind his ears! | |

Matt also guides clients during the famous Salmonfly Hatch in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. He started guiding professionally after graduating for the University of Colorado, Boulder, with a degree in Economics. When the local rivers are covered in snow, Matt can be found in the tail-waters, braving the frozen fly-lines and fingertips below the many reservoirs in Colorado. | |

I have lived in the Vail Valley since 1994 and like most, moved here for the snow and stayed here for the summer. Fly-fishing is more than just a hobby to me. I think about fishing morning, noon and night, just ask my wife. This will be my fourth year with the company, but I have been fly-fishing exclusively now for 13 years. When not guiding, tying up trout flies or floating down the Eagle with my Scott A3, you can find me chasing snook, tarpon, reds, permit and bones in the saltwater. The highlight of my fishing career so far was on my last trip to Mexico, when I caught my first 12 lb permit on the fly using my own hand tied permit snacks. What I like most about my job is that I get to experience the thrill of catching my first fish, day after day, threw the eyes of my clients. And it never gets old. <’{{{{>< |

| Keith Trumbull’s roots are the Midwest and Oregon. He moved here in 2000 to get out of the rain in Portland, OR and found him self in a river waving a stick. He is currently in graduate school and has been guiding for the pasty three seasons. Keith enjoys the daily challenges of getting folks hooked on trout fishing. Ross, Sage, Simms, RIO and Umpqua flies are the needed ingredients of a good day on the water. Some of his favorite fly fishing experiences are steelhead fishing in OR, wading the Gunnison Gorge and Brooks Creek that’s somewhere in WY. Keith looks forward to sunny days on the Eagle River when the hatches are prolific, and the trout are a biting. | |

| This is Nathan’s fourth year guiding with Gore Creek Fly Fisherman. Nathan is a native of Colorado and grew up fishing the local lakes and streams found in and around Denver. Nate started fishing at a very young age and picked up a fly rod for the first time when he was just twelve years old. In his pursuit of fish on a fly, Nathan has fished most of the major rivers in Colorado and has ventured into Wyoming, Montana and Chile. He is a seven time Colorado Master Angler and is regarded as one of the best fly tiers in the Eagle Valley. His unique fly patterns work extremely well on our local waters and have been known to take the most selective trout. In his spare time you will find Nate “hog hunting” or just sitting back enjoy a cold one while whipping out some flies. Give him a call; he would love the opportunity to share his passion. |

| Dave's interest in fly fishing began in Yellowstone National Park where he spent summers during his college years working in hotel management. After moving to Vail in 1980 he continued his career in the real estate sales and property management business until signing on as a full time fly fishing guide in the spring of 2008. He must admit however that he logged just as many hours skiing and fishing as he did working. Dave brings the experience of some 28 years of fishing our local waters, as well as many other notable destinations such as the Bighorn, Beaverhead, Henry's Fork and Madison Rivers. |
