Fishing Gore Creek - At its current condition, the Gore is very clear and very low. With Fall here, temps on the Gore are prime, staying below 60 degrees all day. Gore Creek runs through the town of Vail and empties into the Eagle River in Dowd Junction at the Minturn Exit. The Gore is a technical river and is a lot of fun to fish. Small pockets and some of the deeper runs are were we are finding fish. A dry drop rig is preferred through out the Gore with the current depth. The challenging, yet fun, Creek can produce a large number fish in a day, when the time is taken to hit any small pocket on the river. Smaller streamers can produce very well on the Gore too.
