Fishing Gore Creek - At its current condition, the Gore is low and very clear. Gore Creek runs through the town of Vail and empties into the Eagle River in Dowd Junction at the Minturn Exit. The cold weather has slowed bug activity and we are finding small midges and worms are the most productive. A dry dropper setup works best in the mostly shallow water of the Gore, but a standard 2 or 3 nymphing rig is best in the deeper pools.
Nymphs - Zebra Midge, Blood Midge, BWO emerger, San Juan Worm, Skinny Nelson
Dries - Stimulator, Griffiths Gnat, H&L Variant, Bitch Creek
Streamers - SlumpBuster, Wolley Bugger, Bread and Butter Bugger
