Fishing Gore Creek - At its current condition, the Gore is very clear, and has been getting into the mid 60s in the late afternoon. We highly recommend to fish the Gore in the morning and early afternoon when the temps are lower and the fish are happy. Gore Creek runs through the town of Vail and empties into the Eagle River in Dowd Junction at the Minturn Exit. The Gore is a technical river and is a lot of fun to fish. Small pockets and some of the deeper runs are were we are finding fish. A dry drop rig is preferred through out the Gore with the current depth. The challenging, yet fun, Creek can produce a large number fish in a day, when the time is taken to hit any small pocket on the river.
